Narcissism - Recognition, Understanding, Getting Help

 
 
Hi and welcome to our site! Steve and I are not doctors, we are ordinary people who for two years now have shared the story of our journey to help others dealing with this disorder. Back in the darkest period of our marriage (and after 10 years of us fighting), Steve was assessed as having Narcissistic Personality Disorder. I was told that I should leave him and that he would probably end up in jail. Instead we overcame obstacles that most told us were impossible. I now understand that back then I was what is called Codependent and that these disorders (NPD and Codependence) are very often ‘partners in crime’. The ‘dance’ that they play out together is a terrible one and we are now so grateful to be free of this and in a position to help others find the peace and security that I believe we all as human beings deep down in our hearts want and need.
